Kairo Stevens is the son of Lance Corporal Steven P. Stevens, II (of Detroit, Michigan) and Monique Stevens. Kairo was selected as one of the 2012 Willis Foundation Scholarship Recipients. He will receive a future-use scholarship for his college tuition and expenses.

Kairo was only 6 months old when his father was killed in a combat zone in Afghanistan. Since the tragic loss of Kairo's dad, his mom, Grandma Lois, and the rest of his family have been raising Kairo together and providing him with unconditional love, experiences that enrich his life, and they never forget to tell Kairo all about his dad, an American Hero.
